Our History
For over 45 years, Karen Erickson worked to integrate the arts into classroom subjects. During that time, she became a nationally recognized leader in Arts Education while consulting with schools and organizations throughout the world. Her recognition led her to become a National Workshop Leader sharing her expertise with teachers, artists, and administrators on tour throughout the U.S. on behalf of the John F. Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.
Her experience culminated in several published drama curriculum books encompassing all grade levels. These highly acclaimed books were reprinted several times over the years and sold over 50,000 copies.
This curriculum was originally written for classroom teachers so they could integrate drama into their instructional day. However drama educators have found it to be invaluable as well.
We adapted the curriculum from print to bring it online to a new generation. The curriculum is designed to meet standards in the arts. It progresses in a sequence from grade to grade and within each grade level (Fall to Winter to Spring). The curriculum builds skills and knowledge one step at a time with each lesson connected to the one before. It was also designed (with many positive reviews) for easy and immediate use. It contains ideas for creating your own lessons, support materials for classroom management, assessments, and teaching techniques.
OUR VISION
We started this membership site to provide you quick, searchable access to some of the best drama material available. We support a busy teacher's schedule by doing all the planning, writing and lesson creation. We supply resources for classroom teachers, drama educators, teaching artists, and parents at all levels of experience from teaching a first drama lesson to a 100th.
